Geneva LIVE: Peugeot’s 208 GTi Concept takes the floor

Not long ago Peugeot attempted to revive its iconic GTi nameplate by launching a sportier version of the five-door 308 hatchback, only to find that the market saw the car largely too heavy, too big, and too expensive to be called a GTi.

Now, the French automaker has apparently learned its lesson and it has drawn inspiration from its hot hatch days for a second shot at a modern pocket rocket, dubbed the 208 GTi Concept.

UMW Toyota Keeps Sales Target of 93,000 Units


Despite the stricter lending guidelines imposed by Bank Negara Malaysia, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd is maintaining its year-end sales target of 93,000 units.

Looking at the current situation, we are still maintaining our year-end target, UMW Toyota president Ismet Suki said.

Although the first few months the local car industry suffered a decline in sales, the company saw a minimal impact on its sales since its implementation of the new lending guidelines.

Traveling Electric Light Plant Aids San Francisco Fire-Fighters

GENERATING a 10-kilowatt electric current, this traveling electric light plant shown below is the latest aid to San Francisco firemen. It provides enough current to efficiently operate five 1,000 watt searchlights, mounted on top of the truck. They can be turned in any direction and are of valuable use in night fires breaking out in tall buildings. Eight portable 400 watt lights are also carried in the truck. Each is connected with 500 feet of cable and attached to stands for setting up inside a building.
